Who We Are

A principal-first advisory firm
for decisions that carry weight.

Cordis exists for founders, owners, and families at moments where responsibility, capital, and consequence converge. We help principals see further, choose wisely, and steward inflection decisions that reshape wealth, ownership, and the people connected to them. Quietly, and with institutional-grade rigor.

What is Cordis An Independent Advisory Firm Built Around the Principal
An independent advisory firm
built around the principal.

Cordis is an independent advisory firm focused on principals at meaningful inflection points — when decisions about capital, ownership, and responsibility carry consequences well beyond a single transaction.

We work with founders, owners, and families to bring clarity to these moments: aligning personal, financial, and operational realities; coordinating the right professionals; and helping principals think several moves ahead for themselves and for everyone who depends on them.

Our role is not to be the loudest voice in the room, but to be the most aligned. A steady, disciplined counterweight in environments that are often fast, complex, and emotionally charged.

Focus

Principals at inflection points

We concentrate on the periods where decisions reshape ownership, liquidity, and long-term direction. Not on day-to-day noise.

Approach

System-level thinking

Financial, legal, operational, and family dynamics are treated as one integrated system, rather than a series of separate conversations.

Stance

Independent, principal-aligned

No product agenda. No retail platform. Our work is grounded in the interests of the principal and the futures connected to their decisions.

The Problem We Solve The Failures That Occur Between Disciplines
Most principals don't have a clarity problem.
They have an alignment problem.

In every major inflection point — sale, succession, acquisition, partnership, divorce, liquidity event — the decision itself is rarely the issue. The real risk comes from misalignment between intentions, advisors, structure, and outcomes.

Every advisor a principal works with — banker, attorney, CPA, wealth manager — is excellent within their domain. But principals don't live in domains. They live in the consequences of decisions that bridge all of them. Cordis was created to fill the space between disciplines — the intelligence layer that makes every other advisor in the room more effective.

Misaligned Advice

Each advisor optimizes within their domain. Cordis provides the connective layer that aligns every voice around one center of gravity: the principal's desired outcome.

Hidden Structural Consequences

A tax strategy can alter family dynamics. A governance change can alter control. A liquidity event can alter identity. We ensure structure reflects intent.

Fragmented Decision-Making

When advisors operate independently, principals absorb the risk of integration. Cordis coordinates the full picture so every advisor's work compounds rather than conflicts.

Inflection-Point Blindspots

Events like sale, divorce, succession, or reinvention reshape a life's trajectory. We help principals anticipate second and third-order effects before they occur.

Our Approach A Platform Built Around Inflection Points, Not Transactions
A platform built around
inflection points,
not transactions.

Cordis was designed as a principal-first system that stays in place before, during, and after major decisions. We don't appear for a single deal and disappear. We help principals architect, execute, and live with the outcomes of their choices.

Our model integrates strategic readiness, transaction support, new venture building, and long-term stewardship — supported by a broader ecosystem of advisors, research, and aligned peers through the Cordis Institute™, EVO™ Alliance, and the Cordis Endowment.

The Cordis Approach

01

Inflection Readiness

We clarify goals, structures, risks, and relationships before decisions lock in. This includes the realities behind ownership, gifting, QSBS, governance, and the people those choices affect.

02

Strategic Transactions & Capital Moments

When a principal approaches a sale, succession, acquisition, or capital event, we help orchestrate the process, coordinate advisors, and protect alignment at each stage.

03

New Ventures & Equity Participation

For principals and partners building what comes next, Cordis can stay involved in design, governance, and selective strategic participation — so new chapters are built on a stronger foundation.

04

Long-Term Stewardship

After major events, we remain focused on clarity: family systems, governance, reinvestment frameworks, and the ongoing decisions that define legacy over decades.

Our Philosophy The Beliefs Behind the Firm
Every major decision a principal makes
lives far beyond the transaction.

Whether a principal is selling a business, navigating a complex family moment, or preparing for reinvention, the decision always carries a ripple effect — on people, ownership, governance, identity, and the future being created.

Core Belief

Clarity comes from integration, not specialization. No single advisor sees the whole picture — which means the principal is often left holding the most risk.

Cordis exists so principals never have to make high-stakes decisions in isolation again. Our approach is guided by four core beliefs:

Principals Come First

No product agenda. No institutional conflicts. Every piece of guidance serves the person responsible for the outcome — not the system around them.

Decisions Shape People

Behind every strategic choice sits a family, a partner, a team, and a future. The human layer must be understood with the same rigor as the financial layer.

Integration Creates Insight

Legal, tax, structural, financial, and emotional dynamics must be treated as a single system — not separate stacks of advice.

Readiness Is a System

Prepare a principal fully — and every advisor, every decision, and every outcome improves. Readiness is the foundation of aligned execution.

Our Story Where Judgment, Alignment, and Principal-Level Clarity Begin
Where judgment, alignment,
and principal-level clarity begin.

Cordis was formed around a simple but often overlooked truth: every major decision a principal makes runs deeper than the transaction itself. Behind every liquidity event, restructure, succession, or strategic shift lies a web of intent, relationships, expectations, and long-term consequences that no single advisor is positioned to see in full.

We repeatedly watched world-class principals standing at the center of the highest-stakes decisions of their lives — surrounded by talented advisors and technical experts, each excellent in their domain — but with no one providing the connective intelligence that aligned the decision with the future the principal actually wanted.

The moment of origin.

The insight behind Cordis didn't come from strategy decks or market analysis. It came from a pattern: misalignment destroys more value than taxes, markets, or negotiations ever could.

A founder preparing for a sale might think the question is "What's the after-tax number?" But the real questions were usually:

Who should actually own the shares at the moment of the transaction?
Does QSBS eliminate taxes — or accidentally eliminate control?
Should value flow to a spouse, children, trusts, or future vehicles?
Does "protecting assets" also protect relationships?
Are we optimizing for the principal's priorities — or someone else's?

These were not accounting decisions. They were identity decisions disguised as tax planning. They revealed the gap between what principals say they want — and what the structure of their decisions will inevitably produce.

Where alignment begins.

Cordis exists because the advisory ecosystem — banking, tax, law, wealth, estate, governance — is built around specialization. Every advisor is excellent at their piece. But principals don't live in pieces. They live in the entire picture at once. Cordis is the counterpart that holds that picture together.

Our role is to step into that intersection — to see the full picture the way the principal sees it, to clarify intentions, align people, structure decisions, and build outcomes that remain durable long after any deal closes.

This is why Cordis serves as a long-term partner, not a transactional one. We sit beside principals through every inflection — growth, transition, succession, reinvention — helping them execute with precision and unavoidable clarity.

The name: Cordis.

Derived from the Latin cor, cordis — "of the heart" — the name reflects the center of decision-making: not emotion, but the core of intent, alignment, and what truly matters to a principal and their family.

The heart is where principles are held. The structure is where decisions are made. Cordis stands at the intersection of both.
